About Us

The Desai Family has long been inspired by the arts.  Our journey begins when the first generation of our family immigrated from India to the United States in the late 1960's and early 70's.  That generation brought with them the rich Indian culture filled with fine arts, dance, music and beyond all else, the drive to persevere.

My husband, Kedar, and I came to the United States when we were only a few years old with our parents back in the 70's.  We met in college, have prospered since, and grown a very caring and kind family.  Our children have continued our Indian Culture in very creative ways;  Mira's love of music has developed her into a amazing Dance Choreographer and Instructor and Sophia's visual artistic abilities has grown her into a skilled Mehndi (Henna) Artist.  It has been a joy to see our children carrying forward our rich cultural heritage.

Now that our kids have grown and are pursuing their own dreams, we have been left to pursuing our own passions.  Kedar and I have always had an inkling for creating things with our hands.  We enjoy working wood, paint, resin and other materials.  We do, however, enjoy the tangible nature of wood the most.
